Why would Shakespeare open The Taming of the Shrew with an induction? What purpose does this add to a play? Would you describe these first two scenes as low or high comedy?
Shakespeare started the play with an induction to introduce the plot. The first two scenes are examples of low comedy because Shakespeare made it easy to follow what was happening. The text was easy to understand and follow through.
This can relate to society because drunk people are taken advantage of all the time. While reading i was thinking about how stupid the drunk guy is for believing them. Reading it made me laugh because it was a funny situation
