Arranged marriages and the importance of a dowry are characteristic of many societies. Discuss Hortensio and Petruchio's plan for Katherine. What are the planning? Why? Do you think they will be successful?
They are planning to cancel the catering orders for the wedding so that when everyone goes to the arranged wedding they will be so hungry they will all leave and be so disgusted by how terrible the wedding was no one will ever have an arranged wedding ever again. Then Hortensio will use the will use the money from cancelling the catering to publish his first book "Horten and the Who."
Hortensio and Pertruchio’s plan for Katherine is for Hortensio to pretend to be Pertruchio and tutor Katherine to get closer to her and Pertruchio pretends to be a schoolmaster to get closer to Bianca so they can marry. They are trying to find someone to marry Katherine because Biancas not allowed to marry until Katherine does. I don’t think they will be successful because eventually the lies are going to come out. While I was reading i was thinking about how they’re going to fail. This can identify to society because everybody has planned to trick somebody at some point
